Google AdSense Tips

Posted by kiran | 8:01 AM

Google AdSense program is a popular web advertising program which provides a good income source for many websites. There are well defined terms of service to strictly adhere to when participating in the program.

On my visit through sites and forums, I daily notice several instances of misuse of AdSense ads. So here a few helpful Google AdSense tips, probably many you already know, and few you might gain by knowing now. These AdSense faq are all picked from the Program Policies, Terms and Conditions and FAQ itself and presented in a simplified manner.

1. Never click your own AdSense ads or get them clicked for whatever reason. You know this one very well. This is a surefire way to close you AdSense account. Never tell your office associates or friends to click on them. Keep a check if your family or children are busy increasing your income by clicking your ads and indirectly trying to stop your income. Don't even think of offering incentives for clicks, using automated clicking tools, or other deceptive software. AdSense is very smart to detect fraudulent clicks. Check the ads which appear on your pages by the Google Preview tool if required.

2. Never change the AdSense code. There are enough means of AdSense optimization & customizations available to change the colour, background or border to suit your needs. Do whatever you want to do outside the code, never fiddle within the ad or the search code. They know it when you do. The search code has more limitations to colour and placement, but you should adhere to the rules. The code may stop working and violates the TOS.

3. Do not place more than 3 ad units and 3 ad links or 2 AdSense search boxes on any web page. Anyway, ads will not appear in those units even if you place more ad units. But this is the limit they set, so it is better to stick to it.

4. Do not run competitive contextual text ad or search services on the same site which offer Google AdSense competition in their field. Never try to create link structures resembling the AdSense ads. Never use other competitive search tools on the same pages which have AdSense powered Google search. They do allow affiliate or limited-text links. Update: Google has allowed you to run contextual advertising like Yahoo ads, Chitika etc provided the ads do not resemble AdSense ads.

5. Do not disclose confidential information about your account like the CTR, CPM and income derived via individual ad units or any other confidential information they may reveal to you. However, you may reveal the total money you make as per recent updates to the TOS.

6. Label headings as "sponsored links" or "advertisements" only. Other labels are not allowed. I have seen many sites label ads with other titles. Dont make your site a target in a few seconds gaze.

7. Never launch a New Page for clicked ads by default. AdSense ads should open on the same page. You may be using a base target tag to open all links in a new window or frame by default. Correct it now as they do not want new pages opening from clicked ads.

8. One Account suffices for multiple websites. You do not need to create 5 accounts for 5 different websites. One account will do. If you live in the fears that if one account is closed down for violation of TOS, believe me they will close all accounts when they find out. You can keep track of clicks by using channels with real time statistics. They will automatically detect the new site and display relevant ads.

9. Place ads only on Content Pages. Advertisers pay only for content based ads. Content drives relevant ads. Although you might manage some clicks from error, login, registration, "thank you" or welcome pages, parking pages or pop ups, it will get you out of the program.

10. Do not mask ad elements. Alteration of colours and border is a facility to blend or contrast ads as per your site requirements. I have seen many sites where the url part is of the same colour as the background. While blending the ad with your site is a good idea, hiding relevant components of the ads is not allowed. Also do not block the visibility of ads by overlapping images, pop ups, tables etc.

11. Do not send your ads by email. Html formatted emails look good and allow placement of these javascript ads. But it is not allowed as per TOS. You do not want impressions registering on their logs from any email even once. They are watching!

12. Keep track of your content. So AdSense is not allowed on several non content pages. But it is also not allowed on several content pages too. Do not add it on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results. Also exclude any pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content.

13. Do not alter the results after ad clicks or searches - Ensure you are not in any way altering the site which the user reaches to after clicking the ads. Do not frame, minimize, remove, redirect or otherwise inhibit the full and complete display of any Advertiser Page or Search Results Page after the user clicks on any Ad or Search results.

14. Avoid excessive advertising and keyword stuffing - Although the definition of 'excessive' is a gray area and is subject to discretion, yet Google AdSense with correct placement, focused content and high traffic will get you much more income than other programs, so excessive advertising is not required. Keyword stuffing does target better focused ads, but overdoing it is not required.

15. Ensure you Language is Supported - AdSense supports "Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Danish, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, English, Polish, Finnish, Portuguese, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Hungarian, Swedish, Italian and Turkish. In addition, AdSense for search is available in Czech, Slovak, and Traditional Chinese. If your web pages language is not supported, do not use the code on such pages.

16. Maximum 2 referral button per product per page - With the launch of the Google AdSense referral program, you are allowed to put only 2 referral buttons for AdSense referral, AdWords referral, Google pack and Firefox with Google toolbar referral.

17. Do not specify Google ads as your alternate ads. - Several services like Chitika eminimalls allow you to place alternate urls, when a targeted paying ad cannot be displayed. This involved creating an simple html page and putting the ad to be displayed instead. Even AdSense allows an alternate url feature instead of displaying public service ads. But never use AdSense ads as alternate urls.

18. Do not confuse with adjacent images - It was a common policy to increase CTR by placing same number of images as the number of text ads, which falsely gave the impression that the text ads represented an explanation to these images. Inserting a small space or a line between the images and ads is not allowed. Make sure that the ads and images are not arranged in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors.

Reading a few forums and blogs about Google AdSense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments. I've also thrown in a few tips of my own. We start out with some of the basic general stuff and move to the more specific topics later on.When you're deciding to become a website publisher you will fall into one of two broad categories:

· Publish 100 websites that each earn $1 a day profit
· Publish 1 website that earns $100 a day profit

The reality of it is, most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites leaves you with maintenance, management and content issues. Having one website leaves you open to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm's, market trends, etc). You can adapt your plan on the way, but you'll have an easier time if you start out going in the direction of where you want to end up.

General or Niche

You can build your website around general topics or niche ones. Generally speaking niche websites work better with AdSense. First off the ad targeting is much better. Secondly as you have a narrow focus your writing naturally becomes more expert in nature. Hopefully this makes you more authority in your field.

If this is your first try at building an AdSense website, make it about something you enjoy. It will make the process much easier and less painful to accomplish. You should however make sure that your topic has enough of an ad inventory and the payout is at a level you are comfortable with. You may love medieval folk dancing, but the pool of advertisers for that subject is very small (in fact it's currently zero).

Once you've gotten the hang of how AdSense works on a website, you are going to want to dabble in some high paying keywords, you may even be tempted to buy a high paying keyword list. This does come with some dangers. First off the level of fraud is much higher on the big money terms. Secondly there is a distortion of the supply and demand relationship for these terms. Everyone wants ads on their website that make $35 or more a click, however the number of advertisers who are willing to pay that much is pretty limited. Additionally the competition for that traffic is going to be stiff. So, don't try to run with the big dogs if you can't keep up. If you have to ask if you're a big dog, then chances are, you're not.

When you're building a new site don't put AdSense on it until it's finished. In fact I'd go even farther and say don't put AdSense on it until you have built inbound links and started getting traffic. If you put up a website with "lorem ipsum" dummy or placeholder text, your AdSense ads will almost certainly be off topic. This is often true for new files on existing websites, especially if the topic is new or different. It may take days or weeks for Google's media bot to come back to your page and get the ads properly targeted. TIP: If you start getting lots of traffic from a variety of IP's you will speed this process up dramatically.I like to build my sites using include files. I put the header, footer and navigation in common files. It makes it much easier to maintain and manage. I also like to put my AdSense code in include files. If I want/need to change my AdSense code, it's only one file I have to work with. TIP: I also use programming to turn the AdSense on or off. I can change one global variable to true or false and my AdSense ads will appear or disappear.

Managing URL's and channels

AdSense channels are one area where it's really easy to go overboard with stats. You can set up URL channels to compare how one website is doing to another. You can also set up sub channels for each URL. If you wanted to you do something channels like this:

· domain1.com - 728 banner
· domain1.com - 336 block
· domain1.com - text link
· domain2.com - 728 banner
· domain2.com - image banner
· domain2.com - 336 block
· domain3.com - 300 block

While this is great for testing and knowing who clicks where and why, it makes your reporting a little wonky. Your total number will always be correct but when you look at your reports with a channel break down things will get displayed multiple times and not add up to correct total. Makes things pretty confusing, so decide if you really want that level of reporting detail?TIP: At the very least you want to know what URL is generating the income so be sure to enter distinct URL channels.

In addition to the general rules published by Google, you should be aware of the common sense approach to any advertising medium. In order to make money with AdSense , for example, you need to comply with the Google directive that mandates that you create web sites that sell products, not just web sites that sell Google ads. In other words, with Google, content is king. However, unless you have a website that is designed for shock value, red type fonts on a black background is going to be difficult to read. Set your general layout and appearance to blend with the theme of your web pages.

Do follow the Rules

As with any action, in order to make money with AdSense sense, you need to understand and follow the rules that have been published about using AdSense . Do take the time to read and fully comprehend what you are doing rather than wasting your time and efforts developing a web site with associated AdSense ads that is clearly in violation of the rules. Saying 'Click here to increase my AdSense revenue' is a definite no-no according to the Google rules. It is also a guaranteed way to turn off potential customers.

Do Concentrate on Content

Those publishers who make money with AdSense are the ones who take care to provide web pages that are rich in content. They make certain that the content includes keywords and synonyms for the keywords that fit the subject and that are used in the proper manner to convey information. If your web pages are those on a subject that you know a great deal about, you can compose the content yourself. If you aren't too certain about format, ask for professional help in optimizing the content.

Don't Bite Off More Than You Can Chew

Some people who set out to make money with AdSense have been led to believe that you can set up one web site, place a few ads and within a matter of minutes, be earning income that will allow you to quit your day job and retire to Costa Rica. The reality is usually far different. However, don't make the mistake of thinking if one web site is good, fifty would be better. Especially when you are learning the ropes, don't try to do too much at once. You will end up doing a less than satisfactory job on everything.

Don't Reinvent the Wheel

Many good tutorials have been written about how to make money with AdSense. When you are just learning the ropes, take the time to understand why you are doing what you are doing. After you have mastered the basics, then you can tweak things to your heart's content. You can certainly find new and different ways of doing almost anything, that's what the spirit of innovation is all about, but you will probably get off to a better start if you take time to do things the standard way at least to begin with. As long as you continue to study and learn new methods, your revenue will continue to keep pace.

Google AdSense is one of the most talked about money making programs on the internet. Everyone knows the profits that are possible with this simple to use advertising program and most website owners understand that the greatest profits come from specific keywords with relatively popular, resulting in a higher payout. Yet, time and time again, these webmasters know the right keywords, they use them throughout their website, but they do not see the clicks nor the revenue they expected.

What is it that they are missing?
Publishing web pages with the right high paying keywords is only part of a successful AdSense program. The most important factor is bringing traffic to those pages and this is typically where people go wrong.

Your website must be easy to navigate and should direct your guests to these keyword pages. Analyze the paths your visitors normally take when they access your site. First, look at the pages that are landed on most often and look at where your guests usually go from there. Links and navigation bars that appear on your website allow visitors to move around through your website. The easier this navigation is, the better your earning potential with AdSense.

Most websites have links to the other pages within the site on each page. The key to drawing your visitors to these other pages is the wording used on the links. You want to create links that spark interest with your readers. Wording that includes free or download are often great attention getters.

Websites that have high traffic volumes but are not generating much of a profit can usually attribute this to poor site navigation. Create appealing link wordage to draw your visitors away from the pages with low earning potential to the pages with high paying keywords and profit capabilities. With the right navigation techniques, your high traffic, low earning website can turn into a genuine money maker.

The easiest way to analyze your own AdSense campaign is to perform a test within your website. You will need to first publish a few web pages with high earning potential. You will also want a page with lower profit capacity to compare your results. For the quickest results, you can begin with pages that already have a large amount of traffic.

Your next task is to create attention grabbing links to the high profit pages you want to direct your traffic to visit. Think of a unique way to label the page link that will generate interest in reading more. Creative and intriguing word usage in your links is one way to draw more traffic to your pages with large profit capabilities.

Images and graphic links are great ways to attract attention to your high paying web pages as well. In the quest to create a successful, money making website, there are no limits to the tactics you use to generate traffic and direct people to your site as long as you follow the guidelines Google has in place regarding the use of AdSense. Creativity and imagination are the keys to your success.

The location of your unique and descriptive page link is equally important. You want to place your link in a place that is highly visible, but also in a location that doesn't mar the appearance of your site.

Study the layout and link styles used in other websites to get ideas of your own and for ideas on things that may work for you. Many webmasters use words like "Hot Links" or "Must Read" to draw attention to their high earning pages, but these phrases are overused and becoming worn out. Try to avoid using strategies that you see on a lot of websites. Instead, use these ideas to create something unique and fresh.

The best way to conduct worthwhile testing on the methods that will result in the most earnings for your website is to try many different strategies. Test various words and phrases for your links and try placing the navigation links in different locations on your site, including the top, bottom, and sides. By studying the effects of several different link styles, you will easily find the most profitable methods to use. You will soon be on your way to maximized profits with AdSense.

Blog Owners Will Get More Overall Exposure

If you need to increase online traffic to your Blog, you don't need to purchase traffic to increase your online promotion... Because it can be received for free! Of course, it will come with a price... YOUR TIME!

But if you have more time than money, it may be in your best interest to start grasping a few traffic opportunities. Especially since there are no SEO (search engine optimization) fees associated with working on your site independently.

A WORD OF CAUTION - TIP: If you must hire an SEO Firm to work on your site, be sure they have a solid track record (that is available for viewing) or come recommended by a viable source. Speaking from past experience, an SEO company may promise a particular ranking or traffic increase but the result may never be obtained. And this comes with a price!

ONLINE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS

It is not as easy as some may claim. If done independently, it will require much learning and time. On the flip side, hiring an SEO Firm can be effective but at the same time costly. Also, it is crucial for you to know what the SEO Firm needs to be doing for you... so you know if they are working efficiently.

Traffic from articles has been a primary traffic source for many internet marketers, affiliate websites and ecommerce website owners. A major KEY to receiving article traffic is understanding the power of KEYWORDS. Keywords are simply searchable terms and phrases that people are keying in a search box on a search engine (Google, etc) while looking for things online.

Targeted Keywords are required for optimal traffic for ranking with articles.
For example, if you are selling treadmills and in-particular commercial treadmills, you want to target that. You don't want to create an article and make the article title: Treadmills. 1) You don't want to do this because chances are... a single keyword like treadmills, will likely be too competitive (to rank well using an article). 2) The keyword treadmill is not as specific or as targeted like commercial treadmill.

If a visitor lands on a website after searching Treadmills, what will they be looking for? It seems obvious but the KEYWORD is not as targeted as you may think. Visitors will be looking for treadmill parts, treadmill manuals, treadmill tips and many other related terms. The term commercial treadmill is more targeted as it calls out to a specific search term.

To increase online traffic, it is also recommended to do keyword research and find a keyword that is more targeted to your pages. For example, if you had a page about commercial treadmill reviews, then that page would be even more targeted for your visitor. Therefore, when visitors land on this page about commercial treadmill reviews, the visitor immediately finds the page highly relevant to what they are seeking.

KEYWORD TIP: Typically, the longer the keyword phrase, the more targeted the keyword will be.

So now that you have all of this information, you need to use it wisely in order to increase online traffic using articles. Start by creating an article with the Article Title after a KEYWORD --- that displays a little bit of search volume. Use a keyword tool by searching KEYWORD TOOL on any major search engine. Start with a small keyword (3-10 searches per day). This will be a confidence builder since smaller searched keywords OR long tail -- frequently rank very well in the search engines.

For even better search engine rankings, make the clickable words in the blue underlying link (anchor text) go back to your website... with the same article title keyword that you are trying to rank for. In addition, the keyword title should link back to a web page that discusses the keyword. To increase your conversion rate (website visitors into paying customers) on the webpage, have the same keyword in the title tag of your website. The topically related flow will dramatically improve rankings and your visitors experience!

Building a website is not all you need to do. Once you have a site you need to know how to drive traffic to the site. The following are 6 traffic weapons that you can apply to immediately drive targeted traffic to your website. Learn how to transform your site quickly and easily.

The key to succeeding in any internet related business is traffic. So then, how do you get visitors to flow to your site? Driving customers, clients, or readers to make your website a place that they regularly visit is really not hard to do. Driving traffic does not just happen on its own. You need to plan and execute the plan to make it happen.

1. Consider visiting other sites that are similar to yours. Visit the blog or forum of these sites and post a message with a back link to your site. A back link is simply the URL (address) or your site. Needless to say you need to put the back link in the context of a short sentence or message. If the site allows you to have a signature, then add a link to your site in your signature.

2. Create a blog with a RSS feed that notifies subscribers whenever you have updated information. Then create new content in your blog regularly. You will find that others will begin to link to you from their own pages and list you as a valuable source of information.

3. Start with Free traffic techniques and then graduate to paid traffic. Makes sense? Common sense will make you successful sooner! Traffic exchanges can quickly bring in a lot of traffic. There are plenty of good free traffic resources. Consider using Traffic Swarm. Open a free account or sign up as a pro. I started with a free account then graduated to pro. Pro will allow you to gain more points sooner and benefit from your downline.

4. SEO mean Search Engine Optimization and is one of the best things you can do for your business. SEO will help you generate targeted traffic for your website. Targeted traffic means that the people that visit your website will actually be looking for what you have to offer! Techniques like keyword density within paragraphs as well as keyword placement within the title of the webpage, Meta tags and the bolding, underline and italicizing of keywords within the webpage are a few of the SEO techniques that will impact traffic to your site. You may learn more about this at enlightenedsource.org

5. Use safe linking practices. Set up linking arrangements that appear natural. You only want to link to site related to your keywords and target market. Just having links is not what you want to do. In fact you will be penalized for just having links. It is not the number of links that matter. What matters is if the sites you link to be related to your site and that those site you link to have a rank of 3 or higher.

6. Good site content is very important. Search engines love content, and so do your visitors! Fresh content will keep your visitors coming back to your website at their own will and you’ll naturally get higher results at search engines

I’ve heard it said, and even seen it written, that blogging is better than SEO for getting traffic. Are blogging traffic or SEO traffic generation techniques better for you, or does it not really matter?

Actually, a lot depends on you and which you like best: blogs or traditional websites, and also what you want the traffic for. I also wonder why the distinction is being made, since anybody serious about internet marketing and getting plenty of traffic, will use both. There is really no need to choose one or the other. However, when I hear such arguments I get the feeling that it is more academic than which provides the more traffic. Feelings, however can be wrong, so it is worth discussion.

When you think about it, the type of traffic you get from a blog could very well have different needs and interests to those that reached your site after carrying a search on Google or Yahoo using specific keywords. OK, you can get to blogs from search engines also, and through the use of keywords, but if you are looking to buy something you wouldn’t normally log onto a blog, would you?

Let’s say you wanted the best price for a gross of Titleist golf balls, you wouldn’t visit a blog site. Similarly if wanted to discuss their benefits, you would go to a blog or a forum. Sometimes it gets difficult to tell the difference these days, since blogs are becoming increasingly more interactive, but you get my general drift. I hope!

With a blog you can advertise whatever you want to, and the same is true of a website. However, you are more likely to make a direct purchase from a website, and to seek information from a blog. Hence, the traffic you get on a blog are information seekers and those on your website may also be looking for info, but might also be wanting to make a purchase. So right away we can kind of separate blog readers from website visitors.

It’s not a well defined separation, but bloggers tend not to be looking for something different to what a search engine user is looking for. If you have a blog on your website, your blog page will be likely to attract prospects that will tend to be more regular visitors than those that are checking out your website. If the latter don’t respond to your opt-in form, you will be unlikely to see them again, but a visitor to your blog page might return frequently.

However, to return to the question: what is better, blog traffic or SEO traffic, as long as each is free it doesn’t really matter I would have thought. I suppose that it could be argued that the SEO traffic is more focussed because they have used your specific keywords to get to the page they landed on ,and blog traffic could come from ezines and other sources that are perhaps not specific to any product you are selling. Me, I would accept any traffic no matter where it came from, and quite frankly once the traffic gets to your webpage it is up to you to convert it to sales.

The difference between the two is that if you don’t make an immediate impact with the SEO visitors, you could be struggling to keep them returning to your website, but you are likely to have more time with the bloggers, since they tend to keep coming back to the blog. The SEO visitors might register with your opt-in page, but that only allows you to keep in contact with them, and you still have to try to induce them to return to your website.

On the other hand, the blog readers need no such inducement, since they visit your site each time you publish a new posting. That is assuming that your blog is on your own website, and not on the blog server as many (perhaps most) are.

Perhaps I am completely on the wrong track, but I will keep tabs on it and report on my website what my findings are regarding blog traffic and SEO traffic, and whether or not one tends to buy more that the other. It is useful to know, since for a website that is designed to sell products it can determine whether or not it is worth having a blog on your site or keep trying to improve your SEO.

That is a big decision to make, and if it could make the difference between success and failure then it should be determines mathematically and scientifically rather than by conjecture and opinion. It is scientific testing that frequently makes the difference between those that are successful in internet marketing and those that fail.

So, is blogging traffic or SEO traffic generation the best? Who knows? I hope to know shortly though, and I will share it with you on my site when I finish my testing.

Being that viral marketing is all the rage and highly effective at passively spreading the word on your opinion, or for promotional purposes, article writing has grown in popularity amongst internet marketers. Considering the amount of time and 'labor' it takes to research, organize, and compose an article, the million dollar question here is how to 'maximize' the return off your efforts. Plainly speaking, how can you use an article you toiled over for not only 'publication purposes' via RSS but also for your own blog post and side step the duplicate content policies?

Well one approach you can follow without violating any policies would have you make a blog post first and assuming that you've pinged all the directories, wait 24 hours and then submit your article to as many directories as you wish. This way the directories would already recognize you as being the author.

Another approach would be to include the url of your blog in the resource box, (about the author) of your submission to the article directories. With this back link to your blog , the original content is now being referenced and you're 'covered'.

At this point lets 'step back' and look at yet another approach which, in my opinion, would address exactly what it is we're trying to accomplish.

When submitting to article directories, there's a certain protocol that needs to be followed or your article will not get published. The length of your article is one factor directories consider. Referencing other sources of information such as websites within your article is also a negative factor that directories will frown upon.

When making a blog post you can make it as long or as short as you please. Adding personal insights or url's is also your choice. It is after all your blog. If you are so inclined and feeling passionate enough about your posting you can even go into a 'Dennis Miller' rant.

My suggestion is this: compose the post for your blog first with all the 'personality', insight, and references you may want to add. Then after allowing the 24 hours for your post to 'circulate' submit to the article directories a 'recomposed' version of your post. This 'new' version may mean 'cleaning up ' the posting by removing any included references, altering it length accordingly, and rewording it to make it more appealing to the more mainstream readers you encounter through article publication as opposed to readers of your more personalized blog.

Adopt the mindset that one is a casual blog posting while the other is an article which generally is more structured.

Reworking your post should take minimal effort since you've already got the content laid out and the end result will be that although the general content of both will be similar it's doubtful that it would be viewed as 'duplicated' content. With a minimal amount of effort you've insured that both your blog post and your article are appealing to their respective targeted audiences getting you maximum results for your efforts!

Blogs are sources that provide information and news, regarding different topics. The term 'blog' is a more casual and popular term for 'Web log'. There are various types of web logs, depending on the kind of information, they provide.

Traffic is the holy grail of bloggers. When I read online forums in which bloggers talk about traffic generation however, most bloggers make it more difficult than it really is.

1. Keep posting to your blog - you need good content, and a lot of it

A blog isn't a blog without lots of great content. The more posts you have, the more readers will find you. It really is that simple; you must generate content that people want to read.

2. Use social networking tools, like Twitter

3. Promote your RSS feed

Encourage readers to subscribe to your RSS feed. Most of your visitors are unfamiliar with RSS, so you'll need to explain what a feed is, and how to read news feeds.

4. Visit forums and promote in your signature file

Forums are fun; not only will you interact with others, learning more about blogging and your niche, you'll also win traffic.

Share your blog's URL in your signature file. Most forums allow this. Ensure you know what the forum rules are, so you don't break them.

5. Use the free classifieds sites

There are many online classifieds sites, and many are free. Why not advertise your blog?

You'll get more readers, and you'll get those readers who are unfamiliar with blogging. There's a big wide world of readers outside the blogosphere, and your challenge is to get them to your blog. Advertise, and they will come.

So there you have five easy and fun ways to get traffic to your blog. Get started putting the methods into action today.

More and more people are establishing blogs every day. Blogging provides an easy way to get a web site online to start an online business without any knowledge of html or any other computer language. But one thing every blog has in common is the need for traffic. Regardless of whether you use a blog or web site, you need traffic to be successful.

Use these 7 easy steps to increase your blog traffic:

1. It is very important to confine your blog posts to one specific topic. This is called your niche. By writing on a single subject, you will acquire loyal readers who are looking for fresh information in that field. If your log posts talk about everything under the sun, you will not gain many loyal followers (unless your blog is very entertaining or funny).

2. In addition, the search engines will reward your site if all of the information it contains is on one single topic. This alone is a very powerful reason to select a niche. Search engines can bring you a significant amount of traffic and are definitely worth courting.

3. Add fresh exclusive content to your blog on a regular basis. Post new information as often as you can and try to do it on a consistent basis. It is better to post one article every other day than to submit 15 articles once a month. By doing it every other day, the search engines will visit your blog on a regular basis and give your site a higher ranking. This will increase your site's visibility and bring your blog traffic.

4. Submit you blog to as many different blog directories as possible. There are a number of services that will take care of this tedious work for you, but it is an important step in getting traffic, especially when the site is new.

5. You should also submit your site to the rss feed submission sites. Rss subscribers represent a significant following for the largest blogs and can bring you a significant amount of traffic and income. This is very important, don't skip this step! In addition, this is another good way to build up one way links to your site and, as mentioned above, the search engines love one way links and will reward your site with traffic.

6. Use the social bookmarking sites for every article you post. There are a number of free sites that will do this for you. You can find them by doing a search, but I recommend onlywire dot com. They will submit your post to 22 other bookmarking sites. By effectively bookmarking your posts, you can instantly increase your blog traffic.

7. Develop partnerships with blogs in the same and related niches. Comment frequently on other blogs and leave a link to your own blog in your signature. Set up strategic partnerships with other blogs and use small ads in visible locations to refer readers to each other's site.

Use these 7 easy steps to increase your blog traffic and start making money online.

As a new blogger I'm constantly on the look out for simple proven methods that will increase the amount of traffic that my blog receives. I will progress onto the more complex methods once have mastered the basics. These 3 tips outlined below are the basics and if they are done correctly I'm sure your readership levels will gradually increase. The best thing about them is that you don't have to spend a penny on them, all you need to do is use a little bit of time and energy, and if you aren't prepared to that do build up your blog, give up now.

Leaving Comments on Other Blogs - leave at least 10 comments on blogs you have never commented on before, every day. Do not just respond with only one line, write something that shows you have read the article and make it reasonable intelligent.

Submit All Your Article to the Following Social Sites - It goes without saying that the articles, which you publish on your blog, are of a good quality. Submit all your articles to the following' Deli.icio.us, Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon, Technorati.

Write One Controversial or Celebrity Based Article Every week - I would recommend writing about something or someone that has been in the news a lot in that particular week.

Don't expect the world too soon, what's the rush, if you preserve and work at it, and constantly evaluate and learn, you will succeed with your blog.

The correct answer as to why you should leave comments on a blog, is obviously because you have an intelligent answer that you would live to give relating to the article you have just read. It is also helps the blog site owner where the article appears, to judge the success and public opinion towards what they have published. For me these should be the primary reasons as to why you leave comments on someone else's blog. Well for me they are!

As a relatively new blogger its, coming up for my second full month of my journey towards becoming a successful and profitable blogger. It has become obvious to me, that you get plenty of people out there that leave comments on blogs for the sole purpose of kissing the ass of the superstar blogger. They leave second-rate comments or they can only agree with every word written by the well-known bloggers.

I suppose people that don't have a mind of their own and are spending every waking minute wishing they could be just like their hero, will never become successful. I think the reason why people like Yaro Starak , Darren Rowse, Shoemoney have become so successful is because they are original, they never had anybody to copy to mould themselves upon, to look too for ideas.

The only way we can become successful is to carve our own path, and for me that means I have drastically reduced the amount of time I spend reading the big blogs. I don't want to subconsciously or purposely, for that matter copy them. There is so many good new up and coming blogs out there in blog land which I feel will one day surpass the great well known bloggers of today.

The number 1 reason I feel why comments are left on blogs is link building and building traffic. Nothing wrong with that, but when it is obvious that the person hasn't even read the dam article and is leaving their mindless comments for the sole purpose or I should say vain hope that someone visits their own site. Why the heck am I going to visit your site when you leave a comment such as, "well written article, great stuff, keep up the good work". I feel that any blog owner should be proactive and delete such comments that are clearly a waste of time.

Why do you leave comments on blogs, be honest, do you even bother to read the article? Or are you one of those, who is petrified to leave constructive criticism on a well known bloggers blog.

I conducted a new business seminar for an ad agency yesterday. One of my recommendations was to use an agency blog as a new business tool and a positioning tool. They've committed the next 90 days making this a priority.

Why would I recommend a blog as one of the most important tools for ad agency new business?

Having an agency blog is well worth the time and effort. It provides many great benefits. Below are some of the important lessons I've learned through blogging and the ten reasons why your agency should have a blog:

  1. Communication that Connects. The most important lesson I've learned, "you don't know what you know until you write it down."I've been associated with great writers, I know that I'm not one of them! But blogging has been an great tool for me to better communicate my thoughts.
  2. New Business Paradigm Shift. New business for ad agencies is undergoing a paradigm shift; instead of hunting for clients it's now more important for your prospective clients to find your agency. Blogs make it easier for your prospective clients to find your agency. They'll even initiate contact when they are ready to engage.
  3. True Expertise. Clients want leadership not partnership from their agency. In the early days of television, programs were produced by ad agencies, leading the way utilizing new technology. Today, when they should be leading, they are woefully behind in Web 2.0 marketing expertise.
  4. Prominence of a Blog. It use to be said, "every business needs a Web site." Today, it's, "every business needs a blog." A blog will become the gateway to your agency, make your agency easier to find and provide a reason to visit online often. Your agency's Website becomes more like your agency's brochure. That's good news for the majority of agencies that know how difficult it is to redesign and update their Website!
  5. Learning is Doing. It is difficult to learn to use Web 2.0 tools, such as blogging, through a conference or seminar. You must experience it and discover the potential benefits it has for your agency and your clients.
  6. If its Good Enough for Your Client It Better Be Good Enough for You. Blogging is an excellent tool for new business. Demonstrate how these tools have helped your agency by practicing what you preach. It makes for a powerful illustration when you actually use the tools you recommend to your clients. Also be sure to point out that your competitors aren't using it.
  7. Personal Enrichment Tool. Blogging will enrich your professional life, keep up to date with the latest thinking and be aquainted with the latest and best new trends. That will be good for your clients, positioning you in their minds as the expert that you are.
  8. Positioning Tool. Most ad agencies struggle with narrowing their focus and thus have great difficulty in positioning and differentiating themselves. Blogging is an excellent tool to help ad agencies discover their positioning. A good example is the She-conomy blog, positioning a small ad agency as an expert marketing to women, who make 85% of all brand purchases.
  9. Focus on Client Benefits. Blogging keeps your agency focused on what is important to your prospective clients. It forces you talk to their benefit instead of talking about your agency.
  10. A Passion to Assist. Blogging isn't for every agency. If your agency doesn't have a culture of passion to help your audience succeed you wont succeed. As soon as you start to "sell" your agency, brag about your credentials and awards you will lose your credibility and your audience. Provide rich content that helps your prospects with their marketing challenges, build trust and new business will come.
Ultimately, a blog can be your most highly effective, powerful and low-cost new business marketing tool.

As you know Google AdSense is the best way to earn extra income online. Many webmasters and writer have joined this program but earning very low income from AdSense. 99% of AdSense Publishers are earning less than $ 10 per month, this is the fact and every one is trying to increase their AdSense Revenue by one or another way. Many experts are in this field, are ready to open their experiences to increase the AdSense earnings. It is true that AdSense revenue can not be increase in a day or two. This requires your dedication & some time period.

During the research of AdSense Revenue increasing method, I found some simple but most useful tips, which might help you to increase your Google AdSense revenue. You can add more tips, if you have, by comments.

Show your Ads at top of the page:-

Put your block of Ads at top of the page, when ever any one visit your page, they can see the Ads easily and if some thing finds of their interest, they might click on Ads. Do not try to hide your Ads. Put one block of Ads at top left and one at bottom of article. This way you can attract attention of your visitor towards the Ads.

Blend the Ads with content:-

This the fact, that no one like to click on the matter which looks like Ads. You should have to blend your Ads with content so, it look like the part of content. What I think, people don't mind to click the Ads which are the part of content. By doing this you will increase the value of your Ads in the mind of visitors.

Use large rectangle:-

Google AdSense allows you to choose different Ads format. Mostly publisher use the leader board (728x90) or wide skyscraper (160x600) style Ads format. This format mostly look like Advertisment, any wise visitor will know at first look to your page. Try large rectangle (336x280) at top left on your page. This will increase your clicks.

Remove the border:-

If you use your AdSense Ads in a border, that will highlight the Ads but same time it shows that these are Ads and not the part of content. Your AdSense revenue will increase if you remove the border of your Ads and show it as the part of page. Don't use odd colour and fonts of Ads.

Don't populate your page by Ads:-

People will search on internet for the useful information, not for the Ads. Your first intention must, to give valuable information to your visitor. If people like your article, they will spend more time on your page and if your page look clean & neat, the Ads will highlighted very well, hence there are chances of more clicks. Put one block at top left, one at bottom left and one link Ads at bottom of post. That is more than sufficient.

There are some other technique to increase Google AdSense Revenue, but keep in mind that, these technique will produce different result from publisher to publisher. You have to be always in experimental with AdSense.

This article is about sponsored blogging. Are you familiar with it? In case you're one of the hundreds who's answer would be no, I'll explain it to you.

Sponsored blogging pays you to blog...it's a fact...you get paid from companies, your sponsors, to post articles about their news releases or their press releases on your blog. The writing is varied, you will be writing about a seemingly unlimited number of advertisers websites, products and services.

You are paid per posting, hence the term "pay per post". Many of the sponsored content marketplaces prefer that you disclose the fact that you are providing a sponsored posting within the article, some require it.

These are regular steady blogging opportunities offered by advertisers every day to independent bloggers. Advertisers need bloggers because of their ability to create buzz about upcoming projects or products.

Bloggers also help to build traffic to the advertisers website, complete with valuable backlinks. Bloggers also provide quality and usability feedback on the advertisers products and the list goes on and on.

There are some requirements for the prospective blogger to sponsored blogging. These requirements begin with traffic, advertisers like to see regular traffic to your blog. Of course, there is the regular no adult material, racist or hateful material, that should be an easy one.

You must be indexed by Google and Yahoo before you're eligible with some marketplaces. Some require being live for at least 3 months. You get the idea, the advertisers want to see traffic to your blog so someone actually sees your postings about their products.

If you are interested in sponsored blogging but you feel deficient in the area of traffic, start now to improve your SEO, do a giveaway, but get your traffic numbers up. Believe me if you have good traffic to your blog, the rest is easy.
